Also, Toby's one year old! Yay!
I mentioned this earlier in my spontaneously and tragically aborted post a few days ago. I hope you didn't think I forgot. I can't forget this one. (Actually, I've done it before. But a momentous occasion like a first birthday?! No way José.) Check out his new tooth!
That's not a grain of rice up there, my friends. That is Toby's third tooth, stubby and off center. It's like he know's he's a third child and he's gotta keep us on our toes. Take, for instance, the fact that he's 16 pounds. He may be one of the world's tiniest one year olds. He's perfect!
A few weeks ago, Dominic's Sunday School class planted basil seeds in Dixie cups. Noemie one day was walking by the cup and, concerned that the baby seeds were orphaned, so to speak, took the cup of dirt and dumped it into my pot of oregano (and onto the bookcase and around the block-train and into the puzzles and onto the carpet) so that it could be closer to the mommy plant (the oregano) and the daddy plant (a nearby aloe). I scooped all the loose dirt back into the original container, noticing I didn't see anything that looked like a seed. (I've never seen an basil seed, not sure what I was expecting). This morning, Dominic came rushing at me, proudly showing his baby plants, which I came to find, were also happily growing in my oregano pot as well.
After our first traumatic day of swim class, I let Danny take the reins. He quickly mastered the art of depositing our children at the JCC pool with relative peace and soundness of mind. Noemie did cry for nearly the entirety of her remaining classes, with the exception of her final class. I am pleased to announce that Noemie can now swim about two feet in distance! (But more importantly, she's no longer afraid to put her head underwater.) I am sure that she could swim further if her freestyle strokes were not performed in a vertical position. There's only so far you can go when you're swim-jogging.
I heard a mom the other day complaining about the preschool years for the number of birthday parties they felt obligated to attend. True, there was one almost every weekend this past month. But I love birthday parties!
Good party etiquette: Enjoying the bouncy house
Brody was not amused.
Dominic and Noemie's favorite park feature is the bike rack. They even gave it a new name: the hooskaloop.
They're so weird. I LOVE IT. As for the following picture, it just makes me laugh.

Thumbs up!
In that second to last picture, Noemie is "planking" - it's all the range, especially with my high school boys. Noemie is so with it!
